Wednesday's dose of cuteness
Since we had our new carpet installed I have instituted a strict no eating or drinking in the family room. The carpet needs to look nice for at least a month or so! However, my dear kiddos love to eat while watching television. So, they have come up with this solution!

MT: Recap Week Seven
Seven weeks are finished and I am still standing! In fact I am feeling pretty strong. My hip and foot felt really great this week. They are both still bothersome, but I am doing something right in treating them. They both seem to be better!!! I PRAY this continues!!!!
I ran 48.4 miles, which is my highest mileage week since training began in November. It is also the highest number of miles I have ever run in one week!
I ran 4.4 extra miles than the plan outlined and I know that is a risk. I felt good and really took it easy on my runs so hopefully it won't be a problem in future weeks!
I was a bad plan follower this week. Our unexpected (to me) trip to South Texas messed up my schedule. I ran on Monday and then had off the next two days. On Thursday I ran 13 miles to make up for missing Wednesday. That meant my run consisted of a 9 miler and a 4 mile speed work run...yikes. I did it and was pleased with my mental toughness. Friday I ran 9 miles again...slowly. Saturday I ran 16.4 miles. My legs were dead tired, but recovered quickly thanks to lovely inventions like compressions socks and shorts. I "heart" them very much! Sunday to ring in the New Year I ran 4.2 miles. That is way too many miles in four days...definitely not smart! Still, lots of fun for me!!!
This week I need to work on my hitting my paces. I have not done a very good job of running 8:11 miles. I run them too fast.
Bring it week 8....half way week!

Focusing....
2012! It is here and so is the time to think about what I want this year to be about for me and my family. Luckily for me I have lots of time to think about such things when I am running. I really wanted to have a word for the year again. I prayed about several different words and felt like I was to FOCUS in 2012!
I like goals. I am a very goal oriented person. I like to do lists. I am generally pretty good at accomplishing my goals, but I decided I wanted this year to be different. I am not creating goals (with one exception) for myself. I am going to remain FOCUSED to meet the every day and the long term challenges of my life.
The marathon is my exception. It is my goal and my FOCUS for 2012. I do not feel like I have enough energy to determine any other goals for myself until I finish the marathon. My time and energy is being dedicated to marathon training and my family. Everything else will get what is left of me until 3/3/11. That is the day that I accomplish my goal of running a marathon. After that day I can re-evaluate my goals. However, I will continue to maintain my FOCUS!
FOCUS
F: Fully be in the moment and don't worry (so much) about what is happening next
O: Open my eyes and heart to new experiences, ideas, and opportunities
C: Cuddle with Emma, Jonah, Samuel, Elena, and Drew every day
U: Use my and my family's gift to serve others
S: Simplify our house and our lives

Oh my how my babies have grown!
