Golden Gathering volunteers throw a theme party for our "Care Partners" who have early dementia/Alzheimer's. It's a morning of fun, music, entertainment, and we conclude with lunch.
I would love to volunteer, but my kiddos prevent that from happening at the moment. So, I have the pleasure of helping provide the dessert. I love to bake and I love to help others so it is a win-win! This month the theme was "Presidents" so I made Black Forest Cupcakes in honor of George Washington...you know the whole cherry connection! They were so good!
For me, part of serving others is that I must first serve my family. When I agree to make food for others I always ensure that I make enough for my family. Drew and my kiddos are my first mission and I never want them to feel second to anything or anyone. So, the benefit of this belief is that we have a great dessert the third week of the each month!
We are so making them when we read our George Washington book next week! What till the girls see this.
